What is the best strategy for guessing the number?
The best strategy is called binary search: always guess the middle of the remaining range. For example, if the range is 1-100, guess 50 first. If the answer is higher, guess 75 next (the middle of 50-100). This way, you can find any number in 1-100 within 7 guesses.
What does the closeness meter show?
The closeness meter fills up as your guess gets closer to the secret number. A nearly full bar means you are very close. The bar also changes color from blue (far away) through yellow (getting warmer) to green (very close), giving you a visual sense of how near you are.
What age is this game for?
Guess the Number is fun for all ages. Easy mode (1-10) works well for kids ages 4-6 who are learning number concepts. Medium (1-50) and Hard (1-100) are great for elementary school kids practicing number sense and logical thinking. Expert mode (1-500) challenges older kids and adults.

What is a good score?
A perfect game on Easy is guessing in 1-2 tries. For Medium, 4-5 guesses is excellent. For Hard, anything under 7 is great (mathematically, 7 is the most you should ever need with the best strategy). For Expert, 9 or fewer guesses is impressive.
